Butterfly Conservation SA has joined the St Kilda Mangroves Alliance of concerned environmental and community groups to raise public understanding of the ecological catastrophe that is happening at St Kilda.
Many species of plants and animals have been impacted by the hypersaline brine and the acid sulfate contaminated ground water that has flooded these low lying areas adjacent to the Dry Creek Salt Fields.
In 2021, the start of the UN Decade of Ecosytem Restoration, this area needs our help.
Please join us on Tuesday 2 February 1130-1230, on the steps of Parliament House, to show your concern and help demand action to restore this landscape.
The event is called: Vigil for St Kilda Mangroves and Samphire Salt Marsh
