Visit by Rotary Adelaide Clubs and BCSA members to the Chequered Copper Butterfly site at Pakapakanthi/Victoria Park.
This will be an opportunity to see the habitat of a large population of the Chequered Copper (Lucia limbaria) butterfly in a grassy woodland, in the middle of one of the City of Adelaide’s largest parklands. There are some adults and lots of eggs and caterpillars around at the moment. No guarantees, but you need to be there to see them.
Park cars either
near the corner of East Terrace and South Terrace and walk 200 metres due east ;
or in Grant Avenue and walk 300 metres south west.
As this is an outdoor event we will be subject to the vagaries of the weather and so we ask people to dress accordingly. In the event of heavy rain the walk will be postponed.
